Equitable Earth Conditionally Endorsed by ICROA, and Officially Listed in their Code of Best Practice

As of 21st July, ERS has rebranded to Equitable Earth. All references to “ERS” refer to the standard body now operating under the Equitable Earth name.

Equitable Earth, a global carbon crediting programme focused on nature-based climate solutions, today announced that it has received conditional endorsement from the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA), and is officially listed in their Code of Best Practice. ICROA represents a global benchmark for voluntary carbon market participants, guiding ethical conduct and the responsible issuance and use of carbon credits.

The recognition indicates that Equitable Earth meets ICROA’s rigorous criteria for transparency, monitoring, and governance. This builds on Equitable Earth’s existing approval from the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM), adding another layer of international validation to the programme’s approach to nature-based carbon projects.

“ICROA has long been an important benchmark for integrity in the voluntary carbon market, and we’re deeply proud of this recognition,” said Thibault Sorret, CEO at Equitable Earth. “It further validates the work we do every day to support projects that protect and restore the natural world, in partnerships with local communities and Indigenous Peoples.”
“We're delighted that Equitable Earth has achieved Conditional Endorsement. This is testament to the evolution of their programme over the last years and vision for the future of the VCM. They make an excellent addition to the ICROA portfolio,” said Franco D’Aprile, ICROA Programme Manager.

Equitable Earth continues to strengthen its position as a leading standard for nature-based climate solutions. Building on recent milestones, including the launch of its Methodology for Terrestrial Forest Conservation (M002) and a €12.6M Series A funding round, this endorsement highlights Equitable Earth’s rapidly growing capacity to certify high‑integrity, nature-based carbon projects worldwide.
