Belém, Brazil, 18 November 2025 — At COP30, the Ministry of Environment of the Kingdom of Cambodia endorsed the Equitable Earth Standard and signed a partnership with Equitable Earth to advance community‑centred forest protection and restoration across Cambodia. The collaboration focuses on knowledge sharing, technical capacity building, and equitable benefit‑sharing aligned with national priorities.
Thibault Sorret, CEO of Equitable Earth, said:
“This recognition paves the way for Equitable Earth to begin working hand in hand with governments to advance large-scale forest protection and restoration. We see this as an important step toward building trusted, transparent pathways for countries to deliver measurable climate, biodiversity and livelihoods impact.”
UY Kamal, Deputy Director General and Vice Chair of Carbon Crediting Secretariat, Ministry of Environment, said:
”This partnership marks an important milestone for the voluntary carbon market, and we believe it will create new opportunities for sustainable development, community empowerment, and measurable climate impact in Cambodia.”
The first projects under the partnership are expected to initiate certification in 2025, with additional sites under evaluation.
